Bio

Hi! My name is Delaney Gatenby and I am a makeup artist located in Pittsburgh, PA. I graduated from The University of Pittsburgh in 2023 with a film degree, and found out my niche in the film industry is makeup artistry. I have been fascinated by makeup since I was old enough to comprehend what it did. From stealing my mother's lipsticks to intensely watching my sister apply her own makeup, I have always gravitated to this world. And, by seventh grade I was wearing a full smokey eye to school everyday. This was just the start of a passion that continued to grow -the endless giggles of doing all of my closest friend's faces for every school dance, doing the boys eyeliner for our school musicals, and helping to apply endless amounts of fake lashes for anyone who asked.

 

In college, I began helping out on student projects and excelled in design, hair, makeup, and costuming. This is when I solidified my dream of being in the creative part of the film industry. I have done everything from monster makeups, cuts and bruises, to beauty and stage makeup. I have been head of makeup for two musicals at General Mclane High School, and been on countless local sets in Pittsburgh, PA. Since then, I have also graduated from the IATSE Entertainment Industry Makeup Artist Training. Through the program my classmates and I had the opportunity to expand our knowledge of makeup history, and perfect new techniques!
